More details surrounding the Horace Recall Election have been released.
The Special Recall Election is to take place Tuesday, March 9th, 2021. Residents wishing to vote in person can do so at the Horace Rural Fire Hall Event Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Any eligible voter in The City of Horace will be sent an absentee application.
Residents may call the Cass County Finance Office to request an absentee application if they do not receive one by mid-February.
To account for mail time, residents should return their completed applications by February 25th, 2021 to receive an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots may be submitted through mail or in the Cass County Courthouse drop box.
Voted ballots must be in the drop box at the courthouse by 4 p.m. on March 8th (the day before Election Day) as it will be locked after. Voted ballots sent through mail must be postmarked no later than March 8th (the day before Election Day). Completed absentee ballots cannot be brought to the polling location on Election Day for submittal. If a resident chooses to vote in person after receiving an absentee ballot, they can bring their unmarked ballot to the polling location on Election Day to have it spoiled and receive an Election Day ballot.
