Purpose
The City of Horace (the “City”) shares content with the general public and offers City services via its City-sponsored website.  In an effort to promote appropriate content exchange with community members while protecting the privacy of individuals and businesses and offering City services, such as utility billing, the City established this website privacy policy (this “Policy”). 

General Privacy Policy
Records received by the City from websites are subject to the same controls and uses as records collected by governmental offices visited in person and are open to the public upon request, unless otherwise specifically provided by law. Before providing any information to the City, please check with the specific department you are providing information to, to determine whether the information you provide will be held in confidence or must be released upon request in accordance with the Open Records Law established under Chapter 44-04 of the North Dakota Century Code.

Domain Information
The City’s website provider uses cookies on this website.  This information may be used to evaluate the visitor’s use of this website and may be compiled into statistical reports on website activity.  The City will not (and will not allow any third party to) use statistical analytics tools to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to this website. The City will not associate any data gathered from this website with any personally identifying information from any source as part of any statistical analytics tool.

Personal Information
In order to protect the information being gathered, this website has security measures in place including firewalls, encryption, and authenticated access to internal databases where needed.  Specific information regarding encryption, credit card information, social security numbers, and cookies will be addressed on the pages that use that information.  If you send an email from cityofhorace.com, the email address will be collected as a means to reply to you. The City may forward your message to another agency for appropriate action.

Information collected on this website is retained in accordance with the Record Retention Schedules developed by the North Dakota Office of Information Technology.
