Resident safety is of utmost importance to the City of Horace. We strive to keep our residents safe by contracting with the Cass County Sheriff's Department for local law enforcement. The Cass County Sheriff's Department is committed to public service by approaching our residents with integrity, respect, fairness, accountability, teamwork, and reasonableness. The Cass County Sheriff's Department ensures the safety of our residents by patrolling our neighborhoods, enforcing traffic laws, performing welfare checks, and assisting with motorists.

The Horace Rural Fire District responds to fire emergencies as well accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and medical calls. The Horace Rural Fire District is a separate taxing entity.

The FM Ambulance of Sanford Health responds to emergencies and disasters in our area, providing expert care to our residents in need.
